Product Information
DC cooling fans use direct current. That is, the electricity moves
in only one direction. DC fans do not consume as much energy as AC
fans, due to their lower voltage. Another benefit of DC fans is
that they do not generate much electromagnetic interference.
Electromagnetic interference is a disruption in electrical
circuitry that can affect performance by causing a loss of data. DC
cooling fans typically last longer and have a less complicated
design than AC fans. The flow on a DC fan usually changes based on
the input voltage.
When choosing a cooling fan, it is recommended to keep in mind the type of voltage that is needed. Higher voltages are more powerful, but it may not be necessary for certain applications. The type of application will also be a factor on other characteristics. For example, a cooling fan used in a medical office would need to be quieter than one used in a more industrial environment. Before this DC fan is mounted, it is recommended that the intended device be turned off and unplugged to avoid potential injury or damage to the machine.
